Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The current format of my blog was in part inspired by the “Synchromystic” bloggers that came into my awareness in about 2006 in Particular Jake Kotze's "Brave New World Order" and "The Blob" and Arrowsmiths “Black Dog Star”.

Yesterday I was listening to an interview with Jake Kotze who coined the term “Synchromystic”   and he mentioned how in an episode of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” which was created  prior to 911, the twin towers were attacked and a portal was opened allowed the turtles to travel into another dimension. This synced with Jake’s own narrative  regarded  the  911 / mega ritual /star gate.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have very much been in my mind the last few weeks as they were the theme for my sons 5th Birthday party.

The Turtles created by exposure to radioactive slime were the students of their Master (a Rat) named "Splinter" although at times they deferred to their contemporary a Ronin (the white rabbit) named Usagi Yojimbo
The four turtles who are differentiated by their distinct personalities and coloured headbands are named after the four renaissance painters Leonardo, Michael Angelo, Raphael and Donatello, and I had noted that at least two of these painters names sync with the Archangels Michael Angelo and Raphael  and I have blogged about Angels previously.

Whilst out boating on a lake in the local park this past weekend with my wife and child we saw two turtles basking in the sun.

I have also been conscious of the Chinese mythology around the origin of the “lo shu” "magic square" and the 8 directions of the  "pa qua" (Daoist symbol ) which  which legend has it was discovered on the back of a turtle.

Nuns

I was raised in quite a religious household and realised quite how devout our family were when at the age of about 13 my Aunt decided to become a Nun. This was something she had always wanted but my grandfather had persuaded her to wait a while to be absolutely sure. Around the same time i was getting quite into skateboarding and listening to alot of American hardcore/ skatepunk bands. British punk was very just not quite the same! until my friends and I discovered "the stupids" these guys were young, didn't take themselves too seriously were skaters and they dressed like us (surf/skate wear) and to my delight their first single was entitled "violent nun"
I grew up a bit and mostly forgot about "nuns" apart from the occasional film reminders "Nuns on the run", "Sister Act 1 & 2" until I started doing "kung fu" and my teacher talked about the monastic tradition of the buddhist shaolin and how the monks, who were celebate, cultivated their sexual energy through chi kung. Their kung fu could be used to defend the temple from bandits but the main focus of the discipline was to achieve enlightenment. The female buddhist nuns developed their own styles of kung fu, one of which was Wing Chung.
Things change , "Tommy Stupid" is now the Drum and Bass artist Klute (Metalheadz/Kool), I still practise a little martial arts but mostly for fun/health and my Aunt is now a Mother Superior !

Angels

I recently experienced a sync flap around the subject of "Angels" which began when I took my son to buy a halloween costume at a shop called "Angels". Secondly I met somone called "Angel" and thirdly a colleague at work mentioned "Angels" to me confirming the synchronicity.
I come from a "catholic" background so have a fairly orthodox concept of Angels (Michael, Raphael , Gabriel etc), that of the Abrahamic religions ie Angels as messengers of God / instruments of God's will, also that Angels are generally benevolent, although that doesn't prevent them having a protective function (as in Guardian Angels) or even a wrathful/punitive function eg Azrael. and of course Satan is supposed to be a fallen Angel.
As I write this post I note the date is Nov 2nd (celebrated as "All Souls" day by catholics) Nov 1st is "All Hallows/All Saints",  ( October 31st being Halloween /All Hallows Eve ) which brings to mind "Angels and Demons" and the age old battle played out on the world stage and perhaps invidually in our own lives on a psychological level.. "as above so below."

Dr Who

"Knock Knock"
"Whos there"
"Dr"
"Dr who? "
"You just said it"

I might not have written this post today (23/08/14) had I not recently experienced the following synchronicity. Whilst taking my 4 year old son to a birthday party. I was telling/teaching him and his friends the "Dr Who" knock knock joke. It was the first joke I ever learnt and now the pattern was repeating itself. While I was telling the joke to the children, the tune on the c.d. changed to a Grime/dubstep tune with the refrain "Tell Em its Dr Who!" the synchronicity was poignant to all of us and there were some surprised little faces at the coincidence.
As a child I was a huge Dr Who fan, my introduction to the show was during classic era of Tom Baker. My favourite characters were of course; The Daleks,The Cybermen, K9 and The Master. I had my first personal connection with a tv show as an episode "Dr Who and the Hand" was filmed at Hinkley point Point Nuclear power station near to where my Dad worked. I had friend who was also was a massive "Dr Who" fan, but as we grew older "Dr Who" went through a dire period and I felt it was increasingly uncool. I disowned "Dr Who" and my friend.
Maybe it was the tune by The KLF /Timelords "Doctorin the Tardis" that ushered in "the rebirth of kool" and reminded me what I liked about "Dr Who" This was quite a few years before it's revitalisation on screen with another regeneration and the era of David Tenant. Today 23/08/14 see the return of a news series of "Dr Who" and it seems the "discordian" connection is now well embedded for more on this see John Higgs book "KLF Chaos Magick and the band that burned a million quid.
